Ramona Residency is a nonprofit, artist-run residency located in the Arts District of Houston, Texas, home to the largest concentration of artists in the state. This two-week residency provides artist mothers with dedicated time, space, and support to pursue creative projects in any visual arts medium. Participants live in a fully furnished house in Houston’s Arts District, with flexible studio areas including indoor spaces and the outdoor back deck. The program encourages creative experimentation, community engagement, and professional growth through opportunities to meet local curators, participate in open studios or artist talks, and contribute a work to future exhibitions and fundraisers. The residency is designed for mothers and female-identifying caregivers, allowing them to bring their families or organize childcare with support from a partner or caregiver.
