Slow Pottery is an active ceramic studio and creative retreat located at Velanga Orchard, a lush mango farm in Andhra Pradesh, South India. The farm is situated at the foot of a hill, skirting a reserve forest, and offers a peaceful environment isolated from the hustle and bustle of everyday life.

Applications are open for the Slow Pottery Self-Guided Artist Residencies 2026.
This residency invites creators to spend uninterrupted quality time with their chosen medium. Whether you want to work on a specific project, dive into a new concept, or simply dedicate time to complete a task, the self-directed format allows total freedom.
Artists will stay in vernacular-designed cottages (single or double occupancy) under the canopies of mango, neem, and teak trees. The farm environment is deeply connected to nature, meaning artists will coexist with local wildlife. Participants are provided with access to shared community spaces, an outdoor/indoor art studio on the terrace, and three wholesome, home-cooked Indian meals per day. Ceramic artists receive exclusive access to the specialized Slow Pottery studio.

Eligibility:
- Who: Open to all artists. No formal proposals are required.

- Requirements: Applicants must be comfortable living in a remote, nature-immersed farm setting.
Program Benefits & Awards:
- Workspace: Access to a dedicated terrace studio for general arts, or the fully equipped Slow Pottery studio (including an electric wheel, kiln access, tools, and 100 kg of free clay per week) for ceramicists.
- Accommodation: Private or shared cottages with a kitchenette and bathroom.
- Meals: Three fresh, homemade meals daily, plus unlimited tea and coffee.

- General Artists: Starts at ₹31,500 INR (approx. $380 USD) per week for single occupancy.
- Ceramic Artists: Starts at ₹45,660 INR (approx. $550 USD) per week for single occupancy.(Note: A 20% "Heat Discount" is applied for July bookings).
