Short Description
Springboard for the Arts is seeking artists in Saint Paul to propose modest projects that celebrate the magic of winter in Minnesota. Projects are encouraged to either enhance or reinvigorate existing community winter traditions, or try out entirely new ones – all with the goal to draw people outdoors, bring people together across generations, lift spirits, and highlight the unique beauty of winter.
Potential projects might include performances on ice, installations that encourage people to explore nature, experiences that bring brightness to dark nights, creative games or competitions …or anything else that brings warmth, joy, and connection to the coldest season.
Eligibility
- Artists need to be 18+ years of age
- Applicants must live in or have a strong connection to Saint Paul.
- This opportunity is for individual artists (it is okay to involve others once selected, but the applicant will be.
- Open to all creative disciplines (visual, writing, performance, craft, culinary, digital, etc.)
- Events/projects to be free and open to the public
- Projects will take place at Winter Whirl (Saturday, Jan 17, 2026) 1-4PM, Springboard for the Arts (262 University Ave W. 55103)
