The School of Art at Texas Tech University houses Landmark Arts, a campus cultural initiative dedicated to contemporary art exhibitions, programs, and student engagement. Within this ecosystem, the SRO Photo Gallery operates as a student-run exhibition space under the Digital & Narrative Arts program. It provides a professional platform for photographic and moving image art, curated by faculty, graduate students, and staff, and is an integral part of the MFA in Photography program at Texas Tech.

Title & Description

SRO Photo Gallery Annual Call for Submissions (Fall 2026 – Spring 2027 Solo Exhibitions) invites visual artists working in still and moving image formats to submit portfolios for consideration for solo exhibitions. The gallery selects six to eight still photographic exhibitions and four moving image exhibitions to be presented during the academic year from August 2026 to May 2027. Portfolio submissions are reviewed by a committee of Digital & Narrative Arts faculty, students, and Landmark Arts staff.

Program Benefits & Awards

Application Requirements

  • A brief Bio and/or CV.
  • Artist or Project Statement with full contact info (name, phone, email, website/Instagram).
  • Still Image Portfolio: One combined PDF of 20 images (2000 px on the long edge, 72 dpi), including titles, mediums, dimensions, and years created.
  • Moving Image Materials: Email body links (Vimeo or YouTube) to four 2–5 minute video teasers from a single project, with title, medium, and duration details.

Additional Details

  • Still photographic artwork must be displayed without traditional frames — either matted, loose, or mounted on thin backing.
