Title & Description
STAC Residencies 2026 – Open Call for Collaborative Artist Residencies
The STAC Residencies 2026 program offers a series of five short-term, one-week residencies designed to support collaborative artistic practices. Taking place between June and September 2026, each residency runs from Monday to Friday and is hosted at the STAC Chapel in Clonmel, Ireland.
This open call specifically invites artist duos or small collaborative groups to apply with a shared proposal. The program aims to create dedicated time and space for artists who wish to work together but have not previously had the opportunity due to practical constraints such as time, resources, or space.
Selected participants will use the residency period to develop collaborative projects across a wide range of disciplines. A key outcome of the residency is public engagement: all selected groups are required to present a public-facing event on the final day of their residency. This may take the form of a performance, presentation, screening, or other participatory format that shares the outcomes of their collaborative process with audiences.
Due to the nature of the STAC Chapel as a protected heritage building, certain material-based practices are restricted. The residency is therefore best suited to process-driven, performative, research-based, or time-based practices rather than studio-based production involving heavy or wet materials.
