The Here and There Collective (THAT Co.) is a non-profit organization dedicated to supporting contemporary artists from the Asian diaspora. Through their digital archive, grants, residencies, and community-building opportunities, the collective offers crucial resources and network access to emerging and mid-career artists.

Applications will open for the 2026–2027 THAT Studio Residency.
This program provides selected artists with a dedicated private workspace in Brooklyn, New York, for a six-month period. The residency is designed to offer artists the time and resources needed to develop their practice while connecting them with THAT's community of artists, writers, gallerists, and curators. During the residency, artists will host curated studio visits, participate in a video interview feature, and collaborate on a limited-release artist book featuring their work, essays, and interviews. (Please note: This is a workspace-only residency. The studio is not a live/work space, and no end-of-residency presentation or completed project is strictly required).

Eligibility:
- Who: Open to all contemporary artists who self-identify as part of the Asian diaspora.
- Requirements: Applicants must be able to commute to the studio space located in the Bushwick neighborhood of Brooklyn, NY.
Program Benefits & Awards:
- Workspace: 24/7 access to a private, 600 sq. ft. studio space in Brooklyn for 6 months (basic furnishings, heat/AC, and internet provided).
- Publication & Media: An artist feature with a video interview and the publication of a limited-release artist book.
- Networking: Coordinated studio visits with THAT patrons and arts professionals.

Program Costs:
- Accommodations, visa sponsorship, living expenses, art materials, and transportation are not included. Artists must secure their own housing and cover their own commute and materials.
Application Requirements:
All materials must be compiled into a single PDF (under 10 MB) named FirstName-LastName_THAT-Studio-2026.pdf. The PDF must include:
- CV.
- Artist Statement: Maximum 500 words.
- Work Samples: Up to 10 images of recent work with captions.

Submit your combined PDF via the official Google Form linked on the THAT Collective website once the portal opens (email or DM submissions will not be reviewed).
