The Clay Studio offers a prestigious residency for emerging ceramic artists from the U.S. and abroad, providing space, resources, and a supportive community to develop their work and professional careers. The program lasts up to three years and fosters artistic growth, networking, and community engagement.

Eligibility:
- Emerging ceramic artists (U.S. & international)
- Must reside in Philadelphia during the residency
Resident Responsibilities:
- Active participation in the resident and local community
- Teaching (4 Saturdays/year) and mentoring younger artists
- Monthly meetings and use of the studio as a primary workspace
- Living in the greater Philadelphia area
- Covering material and firing costs
- Volunteering at community events

- Contact info, resume, and artist statement
- Personal statement (250-500 words)
- 10 digital images (with details)
- 3 references (contact info only, no letters)
Selection Process:
- Initial review by current residents, curator Jennifer Zwilling, and guest juror George Rodriguez
- Finalist interviews in mid-April 2025 (phone, in-person, or at NCECA)
- Program spaces depend on current resident departures
Program Benefits:
- Personal studio space (185-195 sq. ft.)
