Organizer Information:
The Hogarth Prize is coordinated by Steven King in collaboration with Hogarth’s House, the former country home of the 18th-century painter and engraver William Hogarth. Now a historic house, gallery, and learning center in Chiswick, London, the venue serves as a bridge between the legacy of British social commentary and the vibrant contemporary art scene. The Prize is supported by a panel of expert judges including gallerist Robyn Graham and artist Hero Johnson RP.
Title & Description
The Hogarth Prize 2026.
In its inaugural year, this prize honors artists who combine traditional techniques with original thought. Inspired by Hogarth’s "rebellious ideals of invention and challenge," the prize seeks work that engages meaningfully with contemporary culture while demonstrating exceptional technical skill. There is no set theme, allowing for a diverse range of styles—from sharp social commentary to abstract exploration. Approximately 80 shortlisted works will be displayed in a high-profile exhibition, providing artists a platform to reach collectors and the London art public.
