Organizer Information:
The Latinx Project (TLP) at New York University. TLP explores and promotes U.S. Latinx art, culture, and history through exhibitions, public programming, and digital publications.
Title & Description:
Applications are open for the 2026-2027 Artist-in-Residence program.
This flexible residency (which can span one semester, two semesters, or a full academic year) culminates in a solo exhibition on the NYU campus, accompanied by an artist talk. The most compelling applications will engage directly with larger contemporary or historic dialogues within Latinx Studies.

(All media are accepted, but the exhibition space is best equipped for painting, photography, sculpture, mixed media, and installation).
Eligibility:
- Who: Emerging and mid-career artists.
- Location: Artists must be based in the United States. You do not need to live in New York during the residency, but you must be available to travel for the exhibition installation, opening reception, and public programming.
- Constraints: If selected, TLP asks that you do not hold other simultaneous residencies during your time with NYU.
Program Benefits & Awards:
- Artist Honorarium: $10,000.
- Production Budget: Up to $5,000 managed by TLP (used for exhibition design/production, artist materials, shipping, documentation, and the reception).
- Exhibition & Support: A solo exhibition with a curator of choice, curatorial support, press materials, and PR support. (Note: Artists are encouraged to produce at least one new artwork for the show, but it is not required).
- Resources: Access to shared office space at the TLP offices and full access to NYU Libraries. (Note: TLP does not provide dedicated studio space).

Application Requirements:
Applicants must complete the Airtable form and submit the following within a single PDF document:
- Your Name.
- A Project Description/Proposal detailing what you would like to explore during your residency (200 words or less).
- An Artist Statement (200 words or less).
- Work Sample: 5 to 10 images of your recent work.
- CV.
