Short Description

The Moth Short Story Prize 2025 is an international competition open to anyone worldwide, provided their story is original and unpublished. The prize aims to promote exceptional short story writing, and each year the winner is selected anonymously by a prominent judge. In 2025, the judge is Evie Wyld, an award-winning author. The winners receive significant monetary prizes and the chance to have their stories published.

 

Eligibility

Open to anyone over 16 years old.

Submissions must be original and unpublished.

 

How to Apply:

Entries can be submitted online or by mail.

If submitting by mail, send the story along with a cheque or postal order for the entry fee.

For online submissions, you can send your story in Word format to the given email if you have concerns about formatting.

 

Submission Requirements:

Submit your story along with a €15 entry fee.

The story must not exceed 3,000 words.

Include your name, contact details, and story title (either in an entry form or cover letter).

Selection Process:

Stories will be judged anonymously by Evie Wyld.

The winners will be announced in August 2025.

2nd Prize: A week at Circle of Misse with travel stipend
