The Nature TTL Photographer of the Year is an annual international photography competition celebrating nature and wildlife imagery. Hosted by Nature TTL, the competition is divided into Adult and Youth categories, offering photographers the opportunity to showcase their work across diverse themes. Winners receive cash prizes, global recognition, and the chance to have their work featured by Nature TTL and other media platforms.

  • Entry Fee (Adults Only):
    • £10 for 1 entry
    • £9 per image for 3 entries
    • £15 for 5 entries
    • £20 for 10 entries
    • £30 for 20 entries
    • £40 for 30 entries
    • £50 for 50 entries
  • Youth Entries (Under 18): Free, with a maximum of 10 entries

Eligibility:

  • Adult Competition: Open to photographers aged 18+ (as of April 6, 2025)
  • Youth Competition: Open to photographers aged 17 or younger (as of April 6, 2025)
  • Open to photographers worldwide
  • Employees, sponsors, judges, and their family members cannot enter
 

Theme & Categories:

Entrants must submit images fitting one of the following themes:

  • Wild Portraits
  • Animal Behaviour
  • Urban Wildlife
  • Underwater
  • Small World (macro photography)
  • Landscapes
  • The Night Sky
  • Camera Traps

Entries must adhere to ethical photography standards, including:

  • No live baiting
  • No captive/domesticated animals (except for conservation stories)
  • No harming or disturbing wildlife
 

How to Apply & Submission Requirements:

  1. Register & Submit entries via the official website
  2. Pay the entry fee (for adults)
  3. Submit images in JPEG/JPG format
  4. Ensure caption information is accurate and ethical
  5. If shortlisted, provide:
    • RAW files or untouched JPEGs for authentication
    • High-resolution images
    • Extended captions
    • A sequence of images taken before and after the submitted image (if requested)

Note: Composite images (except HDR, stitched panoramas, and focus stacking) are not permitted.

Selection Process:

  • Shortlisting: Judges select images for further review
  • Final Judging: Winners and highly commended entries chosen from the shortlist
  • Overall Winner: Selected from category winners

Winners will be notified confidentially and must not disclose results until the official announcement.

Publicity & Intellectual Property Rights:

  • Winners agree to allow their images to be used for promotion and publicity
  • Photographers retain full copyright but grant Nature TTL a non-exclusive license to display their work in relation to the competition
