Organizer Information:
Tiger Strikes Asteroid New York and Transmitter Gallery are both volunteer-run art galleries. They have partnered to offer the TNT Residency, providing artists with dedicated workspace adjacent to both galleries at 1329 Willoughby Avenue.
Title & Description:
Applications are open for the Summer 2026 TNT Residency.
This program offers a 6-month, fully funded 430-square-foot studio space. The residency prioritizes underrepresented artists and those producing experimental works that are not always viable in traditional commercial markets.
The residency culminates in a solo exhibition (or an open studio event, depending on the resident's preference) hosted within the studio space from November 7th through the end of the program.

Eligibility:
- Who: Professional working artists from all educational backgrounds. (Note: Currently enrolled students are not eligible to apply).
- Scope: Open to artists based across the United States and internationally.
- Housing Constraint: This is a studio-only residency. Housing is not provided. If you are not based in New York City, you are entirely responsible for securing your own housing for the duration of the residency. Residents may not live or stay overnight in the studio.
Program Benefits & Awards:
- Workspace: A fully funded, private 430-square-foot studio for 6 months.
- Exhibition: A solo exhibition or open studio event at the conclusion of the residency.
- Financial Support: A $250 USD honorarium.
- Documentation: Professional installation shots of the final exhibition.
Application Fee:
- $35 USD (Non-refundable. Proceeds directly contribute to the operating expenses of the two volunteer-run galleries).

Application Requirements:
Artists must submit exactly 5 works for consideration:
- Formats: JPGs (max 2000 pixels at the largest dimension) OR a combination of MP4s and JPGs. Embedded videos via YouTube or Vimeo are also accepted.
- Video Constraints: Video clips must be no longer than 3 minutes (provide timestamps if needed).
- Details: Title, media, dimensions, and year are required for all items submitted.
- Selection Process: 10 semi-finalists will be chosen, from which 3 finalists will receive Zoom studio visits before the final recipient is selected.
