Organizer Information

UNDERPRACTICE is an independent multi-use creative studio and community space based in East London, United Kingdom, designed to support artistic practice, experimentation, research, and embodied creative work. The project aims to create an accessible environment where artists, practitioners, and community members can develop their practices outside traditional institutional frameworks.

The studio is built around the principles of collaboration, intimacy, process-based creation, and countercultural approaches to artistic production. Rather than functioning only as a rental studio, UNDERPRACTICE seeks to become a hub for independent artists and practitioners by providing space, resources, visibility, and opportunities for exchange.

The project welcomes a diverse range of disciplines, including performance, movement practices, music, visual arts, wellness practices, tattooing, and other experimental forms of creative expression. Through its community program, studio activities, and curated events, UNDERPRACTICE aims to strengthen connections between emerging artists, local practitioners, and audiences in East London.

The organization is currently developing a network of community artists and resident practitioners who will have ongoing access to the studio, opportunities to host activities, and support in promoting their work. The initiative focuses particularly on emerging artists, independent practitioners, and non-profit or community-led projects seeking a supportive environment for artistic development.
