The Woodman Family Foundation (WFF) is dedicated to preserving and promoting the legacies of Betty Woodman, George Woodman, and Francesca Woodman—renowned visual artists who lived and worked in New York City. Recognizing the critical role of secure housing in sustaining artistic practice, the Foundation supports artists in achieving long-term housing stability, enabling them to focus on their creative careers.

WFF Housing Stability Grant for Artists
It aims to provide financial support to NYC-based visual artists facing housing insecurity. The grant distributes $30,000 over three years to help recipients secure stable housing, allowing them to concentrate on their artistic work. The program emphasizes long-term support rather than immediate relief and connects artists with housing guidance through the Entertainment Community Fund (ECF). Five artists will be awarded in this cycle.

Eligibility
- Individual: 21+ years, residing in one of NYC’s five boroughs, maintained NYC residency for at least five consecutive years, household income ≤ $80,000 (individual) or $160,000 (joint), household assets ≤ $90,720 (individual) or $129,600 (joint), no home ownership, not receiving other rental assistance, not enrolled in a degree program, first-time WFF grant applicant.
- Artistic: Practicing visual artists with a minimum seven-year track record, creator of original work, at least one in-person exhibition or public showing (pandemic-related reductions accepted).
- Housing Instability: Experiencing or anticipating housing insecurity, including month-to-month leases, paying >40% income in rent, or recent/forthcoming rent increases.
