Short Description
The Municipality of Woluwe-Saint-Pierre is organizing the “Woluwe-Saint-Pierre Painting Arts Prize 2025”, which highlights painting in its contemporary form. Aimed at a broad audience — including art school graduates, students from art academies, and amateur painters — the “Woluwe-Saint-Pierre Painting Arts Prize 2025” seeks to acquire a work from the winner selected by a jury of experts and professionals from the visual arts and cultural sectors.
The goal of this competition is to support artists by building a municipal art collection that reflects the diversity of contemporary painting styles. Consequently, the acquisitive nature of the Prize is a fundamental part of its identity.
Eligibility
The Woluwe-Saint-Pierre Painting Arts Prize 2025 is open to all artists practicing painting, who are residents of Belgium, with no age restriction. However, a certificate of residence must be submitted along with the registration form.
The following are excluded from the competition:
- Members of the teaching staff of the Academy of Arts of Woluwe-Saint-Pierre and RHoK Academie voor beeldende en audiovisuele kunsten, as well as their relatives up to the third degree;
- All jury members;
- Any artist who has already won the Woluwe-Saint-Pierre Arts Prize in the same discipline.
Each candidate must submit three artworks that meet the following criteria:
- Recent (created within the last 3 years);
- Of high aesthetic and technical quality;
- Original, created by the candidate using free materials and painting-related techniques;
- Must not have previously won any prizes.
Technical requirements for the artworks:
- Maximum dimensions: 200 x 200 cm (H x W), including diptychs and polyptychs;
- A hanging or presentation system must be provided by the artist;
- Artworks must be clearly labeled with the following information: artist’s name, first name, title of the work, address, and phone number.

Program Benefits & Awards
- The Woluwe-Saint-Pierre Painting Prize is an acquisitive prize. Consequently, the winner agrees that their artwork will be purchased by the municipality of Woluwe-Saint-Pierre at the conclusion of the exhibition.
- The amount allocated for the acquisition of the artwork is 5,000 euros.
- The Jury reserves the right not to award the Prize.
