Description & Background
Founded in Paris, Fabula Works is a curatorial platform and cultural actor dedicated to promoting contemporary photography and discovering new photographic voices from around the world. Drawing its name from the Latin word fabula—referring to stories across the full spectrum of human experience—the platform creates spaces where images spark dialogue and find resonance. Its physical exhibitions are presented at Millepiani Gallery in Rome, a free-to-visit community venue and coworking space that has supported contemporary photographic practices for nearly a decade.
Objectives
The platform aims to discover and support emerging photographers by bringing thoughtful visual narratives to the public while actively reducing financial barriers for creators. Fabula Works is committed to upholding respect for authorship by covering print production and gallery costs, placing artists and their work at the center of the process. Grounded in the belief that photography should be experienced in print, at scale, and in material form beyond screen-based viewing, the organization seeks out personal, compelling ways of seeing that move beyond familiar aesthetics and well-worn visual trends, while extending visibility through digital channels and community engagement.
