Description & Background
SOPRA SOTTO is an international interdisciplinary residency platform founded by Constance. Rooted in the Hermetic axiom “As above, so below,” the organization approaches artistic practice as a vital tool for research, questioning, (un)learning, and collective imagination. Having organized residencies across Italy (mainly in Tuscany) and the Netherlands, SOPRA SOTTO is establishing a new permanent home in the Gallura hills of north-west Sardinia to serve as a long-term site for future programming.
Objectives
The platform aims to cultivate temporary communities grounded in collective care, reciprocity, and experimentation, operating on the foundational belief that everything is interconnected and favoring more cyclical ways of living. SOPRA SOTTO approaches art as a catalyst for social transformation, emotional processing, resilience, and individual and collective healing, opening space for alternative futures to emerge. Driven by the core idea that creatives are essential changemakers, the residency framework fosters accountability, openness, and trust to generate broader societal ripple effects.
