Overview
Founded in 2022 by curator Stefano Conti, SWIT Platform is a nomadic curatorial and research project bridging the contemporary photography scenes of Sweden and Italy. Based out of Gothenburg, Sweden, SWIT operates without a fixed physical venue, instead partnering with host venues across various cities in both countries depending on its programming needs. The platform’s name directly reflects its geographic nexus, combining the ISO country codes for Sweden (SW) and Italy (IT).
Objectives
SWIT aims to strengthen international cooperation and cultural exchange between emerging photography practitioners based in Sweden and Italy. By creating informal, non-hierarchical frameworks for knowledge production and dissemination, the platform seeks to facilitate continuous mutual enrichment between both artistic ecosystems. SWIT strives to help emerging photographers gain international exposure and institutional recognition abroad while introducing local audiences in diverse cities to fresh, collaborative artistic perspectives.
