Description & Background
Established in 2014, Teatro AlSaeed is an independent performing arts organization and cultural institution based in Minya, Upper Egypt. Operating an independent theatre venue, training spaces, and a recording studio, the organization was founded to expand access to arts and culture beyond Egypt’s major metropolitan centers. With over 600 performances produced, it serves as a year-round engine for artistic creation, community engagement, and professional development in the region.
Objectives
Driven by a vision to be a leading platform empowering artists in Upper Egypt, Teatro AlSaeed’s mission focuses on producing theatre and enabling independent artistic expression. Guided by core values of artistic freedom, creativity, sustainability, and collaboration, the organization believes performing arts are powerful tools for dialogue, inclusion, social development, and cultural exchange. It aims to strengthen the local cultural ecosystem, foster innovation, promote intercultural understanding, and engage rural communities through participatory arts and cultural heritage.
