The 2025 Kuala Lumpur Photoawards (KLPA) Portrait Prize invites submissions for its thematic focus, Critical Eye: Portraits from the Street. This annual global photography competition, established in 2009, aims to spotlight contemporary portraiture, emphasizing creativity in capturing fleeting, complex street portraits. Both amateur and professional photographers are encouraged to participate.   Information & Application Details: • Submissions Open: January 15, 2025. • Submission Deadline: March 30, 2025. • Winners Announced: June 2025. • Exhibition: September 2025, Hin Bus Depot, Penang, Malaysia. • Submission fees: USD 15 (1 image), USD 30 (2 images), USD 50 (3-6 images), USD 75 (7-10 images).   Eligibility: • Open to photographers aged 16 and older from all countries. • Submissions must align with the theme of street portraiture and be taken between 2024–2025. • Students under 25 can submit one image for free with proof of enrollment.   Theme: (CRITICAL EYE – Portraits From The Street) Participants are challenged to create compelling street portraits, emphasizing spontaneity, individuality, and a discerning eye. Creative interpretations and unconventional approaches are welcomed.   How to Apply: • Submit entries via the KLPA website. • Deadline: March 30, 2025 (Midnight UTC+8).   Submission Requirements: • Up to 10 single images per photographer (max. 2 submissions). • Images must be 1,500 pixels at the longest edge, saved as high-quality JPG in sRGB color space. • Files should follow the naming convention: surname.firstname.number.jpg. • AI-generated images and heavily manipulated photos are not allowed. • Submission fees: USD 15 (1 image), USD 30 (2 images), USD 50 (3-6 images), USD 75 (7-10 images).   Selection Process: • Judging occurs in April 2025. • Shortlisted finalists are notified within 14 days and announced by mid-May 2025. • Judging is blind, ensuring anonymity.   Concessions for Entry: • Five free entries are available for photographers in countries without card payment options. Applications close on February 28, 2025.   Awards and Program Benefits: 1.
