The Busan International Design Award (IBDA) is a global design competition celebrating innovation and creativity across various design disciplines. Hosted by Busan Metropolitan City and organized by the Busan Design Promotion Agency, the event aims to inspire industrial design development and foster international design exchange. The award ceremony and exhibition will take place at BEXCO, Busan, from June 26–29, 2025.

- Application Period: February 3 – May 9, 2025 (Online)
- Physical Submission: May 28 – June 1, 2025
- First Evaluation: May 16–19, 2025
- Final Results Announcement: June 17, 2025
- Awards Ceremony: June 26, 2025 (4:00 PM) at BEXCO Busan Design Festival
Eligibility:
- General Division: College students, graduates, professionals, and companies (up to 4 team members)
- Entry Fee: Free for students and individuals; 100,000 KRW per entry for businesses
- Youth Division: Elementary, middle, high school students, and youth under 18
- Entry Fee: Free
- Invited/Recommended Designers: Specially invited designers from previous Busan design exhibitions

Free Topic across the following categories:
- Communication & Service Design: Graphics, CI/BI, multimedia, social innovation
- Product & Environmental Design: Consumer goods, public design, industrial products
- Craft & Fashion Design: Metal, ceramics, wood, textiles, clothing, accessories
How to Apply:
- Online Submission: Upload digital files via the IBDA website
- Physical Submission: Mail or deliver physical works to the Busan Design Promotion Agency
Submission Requirements:
- Online: A1-sized image (594mm x 841mm, RGB, JPG format)
- Physical Works: A1 foam board (5mm thick) or 3D exhibits (900mm x 900mm x 900mm max)
- Video/Web Design: USB submissions (videos up to 5 minutes, web designs up to 20 pages)
Selection Process:
- First Round: Online evaluation (originality, functionality, material use, aesthetics, consumer appeal)
- Second Round: Physical works evaluation by an international panel of experts
- Results Announced: June 17, 2025 on the IBDA website
