Short Description
To enrich the programme of Liepāja – European Capital of Culture 2027 with innovative, interdisciplinary, contemporary and outstanding cultural events, hence boosting the international cooperation, the Liepāja 2027 Foundation is launching an open international competition for the co-financing of cultural and artistic initiatives.
“Through this competition, we strive to foster a space where contemporary art transcends disciplines and challenges conventional thinking, expands the boundaries of imagination, and engages with the dynamics of (un)rest as an aesthetic, creative and philosophical experience. We are looking for projects that resonate across Europe and inspire both local and international audiences,” says Baiba Bartkeviča, board member of Liepāja 2027 responsible for artistic programming.
Eligibility
Applications are open to legal entities and economic operators registered in the Member States of the European Economic Area.
How to Apply
Within the deadline specified in the Call for Proposals, the Applicant shall submit an Application Form to the Foundation by sending it to the email addresses: birojs@liepaja2027.lv and anna.sile@liepaja2027.lv.
Program Benefits & Awards
Applications may be submitted to the competition for the following programs and amounts of co-financing:
- Interdisciplinary contemporary art program “Changing Horizons” application for co-financing up to 50,000 EUR or application for co-financing up to 100,000 EUR. The applicant may apply for the type of project that best suits the scale and needs of their idea.
- Photography event series “World of Images” application for co-financing up to 25,000 EUR or application for co-financing up to 50,000 EUR. The applicant may apply for the type of project that best suits the scale and needs of its idea.
- Participatory performing arts program “Karosta Radosta” application for co-financing up to 50,000 EUR or application for co-financing up to 200,000 EUR. The applicant may apply for the type of project that best suits the scale and needs of its idea.
- Literature and Oral Culture Program “Spirit of the Library” application for co-financing up to 50,000 EUR;
- Environmental installations or digital experiences within the environmental awareness program “Island of Adventure” application for co-financing up to 70,000 EUR;
- Visual theatre development program “Open Theatre Quarter” application for co-financing up to 50,000 EUR;
- World Film Program “Cinema Dream” application for co-financing up to 30,000 EUR;
- Electronic dance music event in the program “No More Heavy Metal” application for co-financing up to 30,000 EUR.
