This open call is for a two-month paid artistic research residency aimed at collectives with a research-based artistic practice. The residency focuses on a period of “lying fallow,” where collectives explore sustainable methods for artistic research, reflect on their practices, and share findings during the residency and in a final symposium. The selected collective will contribute to the ongoing dialogue around sustainable art research models and methodologies. Information & Application Details: • Deadline: Friday, February 28th, 2025 (23:59 CEST) • Residency Period: June – October 2025 (up to 8.5 weeks, can be spread over 5 months) • Application fee: Free Eligibility: • Collectives of 3–10 members (not individuals or duos) • Must have a research-based artistic practice active at the time of application • Interested in exploring a fallow period in their collective practice • Have experience with reflection on institutions, pedagogical or anthropological experience, or research across transnational and transcultural contexts Theme: • Exploring sustainable periods of lying fallow in artistic research • How the collective can balance production, presentation, and research, and how this balance can be approached sustainably. How to Apply: Only through the online application form.
