A.PASS: Open Call for Collective Research Residency
This open call is for a two-month paid artistic research residency aimed at collectives with a research-based artistic practice. The residency focuses on a period of "lying fallow," where collectives explore sustainable methods for artistic research, reflect on their practices, and share findings during the residency and in a final symposium. The selected collective will contribute to the ongoing dialogue around sustainable art research models and methodologies.

• Residency Period: June – October 2025 (up to 8.5 weeks, can be spread over 5 months)

Eligibility:
• Collectives of 3–10 members (not individuals or duos)
• Must have a research-based artistic practice active at the time of application
• Interested in exploring a fallow period in their collective practice
• Have experience with reflection on institutions, pedagogical or anthropological experience, or research across transnational and transcultural contexts
Theme:
• Exploring sustainable periods of lying fallow in artistic research
• How the collective can balance production, presentation, and research, and how this balance can be approached sustainably.
How to Apply:
Only through the online application form. All materials must be submitted in a single PDF, including:
• Application Letter: Describing the collective's approach to artistic research, fallow periods, and motivations.
• Timeline: A detailed planning of the residency.
• Biographies & CVs: For each group member (max 2 pages per person).
• Portfolio: A visual document or links showcasing the work of the collective and/or members (max 3 pages per person).

Selection Process:
• First Selection: The general coordinator checks if the application meets basic criteria.
• Second Selection: A jury evaluates the artistic research focus, pedagogical aspects, and diversity of the collective.
• Third Selection: A final online talk with the top 5 shortlisted collectives to discuss their application in more detail.
Program Benefits:
• Salary: €10,000 per person for a group of 3-5 members (or €50,000 total for larger groups, divided accordingly).
• Travel & Accommodation: Up to €2,000 per person for travel and accommodation (with receipts).
• Research Budget: €2,000 for small production costs.
• Support: Access to a dedicated mentor, curator, a.pass library, and technical equipment.
• Workspace: A collective workspace in Brussels (conditions to be clarified).
