Organizer Information
The program is initiated by the Indian Ocean Commission (IOC), an intergovernmental body that promotes cooperation among Indian Ocean island states, including Comoros, Madagascar, Mauritius, Seychelles, and Mozambique. Through its cultural and creative industries (CCI) development initiatives, the IOC supports regional integration, economic growth, and the professionalization of cultural sectors.
This specific program is funded by the Agence Française de Développement (AFD), a major international development institution supporting sustainable projects worldwide. Within this framework, the AléVini fund is designed as a mobility support mechanism to strengthen artistic ecosystems and foster cross-border collaboration in the Indianoceania region.
Title & Description
AléVini Cycle VI – Regional Mobility Fund for Artists & Cultural Professionals
AléVini Cycle VI is a regional mobility grant program aimed at supporting artists and cultural professionals in the Indian Ocean region. The initiative is part of a broader strategy to reinforce the cultural and creative industries (CCI) sector by facilitating mobility, collaboration, and knowledge exchange across island nations.
The program provides financial support for short-term mobility projects that contribute to the development of artistic practices and professional networks. It is structured around three main objectives:
- Strengthening inter-island artistic exchange
- Supporting the creation, production, and dissemination of cultural works
- Enhancing the regional cultural market and professional ecosystem
Special priority is given to projects that promote gender equality and the inclusion of women in cultural and artistic activities.
Rather than functioning as a traditional residency, AléVini operates as a targeted mobility fund, enabling participants to travel for specific professional purposes such as collaboration, training, or production.
