The Alexander Rave Foundation, funded through ifa (Institute for Foreign Cultural Relations), provides scholarships aimed at fostering transnational understanding and trust. The program supports democratic civil societies and freedom in art and science by enabling deep professional exchange.

Scholarship for the Handling of Cultural Assets and the Transformation of Museums.
This program allows cultural professionals from DAC list countries to undertake residencies at German host institutions. The scholarship focuses on transcultural dialogue and engagement with collections, archives, and the ongoing transformation of museums in line with the 2023 ICOM definition.

Eligibility
- Location: Applicants must have permanent residence in a country on the DAC list.
- Context: Must work with cultural assets, collections, or archives in institutional contexts.
- Education: Must have completed studies or vocational training.
- Language: Very good English skills are required; German is an advantage but not mandatory.
- Exclusion: Other scholarships or parallel residencies are not permitted during the funding period.
Program Benefits and Awards
- Stipend: 1,500 euros net per month.
- Family Allowances: Monthly allowances of 250 euros for a spouse and 250 euros per child.
- Logistics: Coverage of visa costs, health insurance, and arrival/departure travel expenses.
- Local Support: Monthly ticket for public transport and a language course grant up to 500 euros.

Application Requirements
- Host Institution: Applicants must identify a non-commercial German host institution with a collection or archive and develop a joint project outline.
- Documents: Online application requiring proof of the host's non-profit status, invitation letter, reference letter, and certificates of practical experience.
- Tandem Option (D→DAC): An optional reciprocal stay (2–12 weeks) for a German professional at the DAC home organization can be supported if applied for together.
How to Apply?
Applications are accepted exclusively via the online form provided by ifa. All documents must be prepared in advance as intermediate storage is not possible. Apply to the Rave Scholarship.

Additional Details
Applications from Black people, People of Color, Women, LGBTQIA+ individuals, and members of historically marginalized groups are expressly welcomed. A maximum of ten scholarships are awarded annually.
