Scholarship Programs & Eligibility:

  1. Art Journalism: The Beverley Art Writers Travel Grant ($10,000)
    • For established American freelance writers with a strong reputation in art journalism.
    • Supports travel to Australia for at least two weeks to explore the contemporary visual arts scene.
    • Open to U.S. citizens or permanent residents.
    • Submission Period: January 1 – March 31.
  2. Fine Arts: AFNGA AusArt Scholarship ($30,000)
    • For Australian MA or Graduate students in fine arts, art history, curatorial studies, arts administration, or conservation studies.
    • Supports one year of full-time study at a U.S. educational institution.
    • Open to Australian citizens or permanent residents.
    • Submission Period: January 1 – March 31.
  3. Music: APRA AMCOS Global Professional Development Award ($10,000)
    • For emerging or mid-career Australian musicians, songwriters, or producers.
    • Covers expenses for recording, producing, writing collaborations, and career development in the U.S..
    • Open to APRA AMCOS members who are Australian citizens or permanent residents.
    • Submission Period: January 1 – March 31.

 

How to Apply & Submission Requirements:

  • Applications must be prepared and submitted by the applicant (not a third party).
  • Specific project proposals, budgets, artistic work samples, and recommendation letters may be required depending on the scholarship.
  • Travel or study must commence within a set timeframe after receiving the award.
  • Applicants who have previously received an American Australian Association grant or scholarship are not eligible.

 

Selection Process:

  • Applications are reviewed based on artistic merit, relevance to cross-cultural exchange, and feasibility of the proposed project.
  • Selected applicants may be required to report on their experience after completing the funded project.
