The Arroscia Residency. An artist-run, 501(c)(3) non-profit corporation located in a small mountain village in the Arroscia Valley.
Title & Description:
Applications are open for the Arroscia Residency: Fall 2026 Session.
This residency offers an immersive experience in a rural Italian community. Artists are provided with the time, space, and financial support to create a new body of work, culminating in a final exhibition in the studio. The residency length is flexible, ranging between 4 to 8 weeks based on the artist's proposal.

Eligibility:

Who: International emerging and mid-career artists. (Applicants must have the ability to speak Italian, Spanish, and/or English).

Student Status: The residency is strictly NOT accepting artists currently enrolled in an academic program. (Note: PhD candidates will be considered on a case-by-case basis).

Production Rule: The artist MUST produce a body of work with a minimum of 6-8 pieces (including sketches and finished pieces) during the residency. One piece chosen by the jury will strictly remain the property of the Residency for its permanent collection.

Community Engagement: The artist MUST conduct at least one public activity (e.g., an artist talk with guests/locals, an interactive project with the local middle school, or an installation in local villages).
Program Benefits & Awards:

Travel: Roundtrip flights from the closest airport of the artist’s hometown to Europe and back (cost of flights will be reimbursed upon arrival).

Accommodation & Workspace: Paid housing for the duration of the residency, plus use of studio and exhibition space.

Stipend: A stipend of €300 per week for art supplies and living expenses.

Exhibition: An exhibition of the artist’s work created during the residency.
