Title & Description
Artist Creative Practice Grant (South Arts) – Professional Development Funding for Individual Artists
The Artist Creative Practice Grant is a competitive funding opportunity designed to support professional-caliber individual artists pursuing milestone career development activities. Administered by South Arts (USA), this program provides financial assistance for opportunities that significantly advance an artist’s creative practice, visibility, or professional trajectory.
This grant replaces the former Individual Artist Career Opportunity Grants and is intended to reduce financial barriers that often prevent artists from accessing residencies, exhibitions, travel-based opportunities, research projects, and other career-defining experiences.
Grants provide up to $3,000 in funding for eligible activities occurring within the program cycle (November 1, 2025 – June 30, 2026). Applicants are encouraged to propose opportunities that represent a significant step in their artistic development, including participation in Artist Residencies, curated exhibitions, international collaborations, advanced training, or professional presentations of work.
The program supports a wide range of disciplines including Visual Arts, Photography, Media Arts, Music, Dance, Theatre, Literature, Design, and Interdisciplinary Arts. Selected projects must demonstrate artistic merit, clear professional impact, and alignment with the applicant’s long-term creative trajectory.
