Organizer Information:

Konst i Hälsingland is an association formed by artists to strengthen art within the region, based on the idea that high-quality art should be available outside major cities. They are partnering with Iggesunds Folkets hus, an active community house located in the classic factory town of Iggesund (pop. 3,500) on the southern Norrland coast.

Title & Description:

Applications are open for a four-week artistic residency in Iggesund.

The organizers are looking for one artist to work with local stories (small or large) and create art in collaboration with local residents. The selected artist will act as a "house artist," engaging with existing activities at the house, such as the integration café, film clubs, youth center, or pensioners' group.

The residency focuses on participant-based projects. The artist will also meet the Konst i Hälsingland youth council (ages 16–21) on two occasions: first for a workshop/presentation, and later as assistants during the final exhibition.

The residency concludes with a public presentation or exhibition on May 30, 2026.
