Artists’ Drawings Magazine. A publication focused on drawings made by artists, exploring how drawing is used to develop and articulate ideas. It embraces a broad interpretation of drawing, from finished outcomes to process-oriented sketches.

Applications are open for Artists’ Drawings Issue #2.

The magazine is seeking both visual and text submissions for its upcoming Summer 2026 print issue. There is no set theme.

  1. Visual Submissions: Exploratory sketches, studies, diagrams, instructions, or finished drawings.
  2. Text Submissions: Short texts discussing a drawing, drawing practices, broader social/political issues related to drawing, or reviews/responses to recent exhibitions (2025/2026) dedicated to drawing.

Eligibility:

  • Who: Open to artists, writers, and anyone else with an interest in drawing worldwide.
  • Originality: All visual submissions MUST be your own work or works to which you hold the copyright. Text submissions MUST be original and never previously published.
  • Text Limits: Texts must be ≤750 words (including notes). Longer submissions and unfinished drafts will strictly NOT be considered.
  • Visual Limits: Visual submissions are limited to a maximum of 3 drawings.

Program Benefits & Awards:

  • Publication: Selected visual and text submissions will be published in the Summer 2026 print issue of the magazine.
  • Compensation: All selected contributors will receive a free print copy of the magazine.

Application Requirements:

  • Submission Format: All submissions MUST be made via the official Google Forms.
  • Image Specifications: Submissions should include high-resolution (300dpi) JPEG images.
  • File Naming: Image files MUST be titled before uploading using the format: Firstname_Surname_Image1.
  • (Note for Writers: If your text includes copyrighted material, you must indicate the image sources on the form. Be aware that the magazine may reject texts if the reproduction fees for those images are prohibitively expensive).
