ARTS 14C Lobby Mural Open Call 2026
ARTS 14C invites proposals for an immersive, high-impact Mural to be installed on a primary lobby wall measuring approximately 12 feet high by 10 feet wide. The call is open to various aesthetic directions—ranging from abstract and minimalist to maximalist or identity-rooted designs. Artists have the creative freedom to extend their work onto adjoining walls to create a truly immersive environment. This commission is designed to provide a lasting visual legacy for the facility while offering the artist institutional support and professional growth.

Eligibility
Open to International and domestic artists with a strong vision and the technical ability to execute a large-scale wall work.
- Artists must be able to travel to and work on-site in Jersey City.
- Collaborative teams are welcome to apply.
- Experience in public art or large-scale commissions is preferred but not required if the proposal demonstrates sufficient feasibility.
Program Benefits and Awards
- Material Coverage: ARTS 14C will fully cover the cost of all required painting materials.
- Residency Award: In lieu of a direct monetary fee, the selected artist will be awarded a free Special Project Residency (providing time, space, and institutional support).
- Technical Assistance: On-site painting assistance will be provided by the organization to support the realization of the work.
- Public Exposure: Permanent placement of the work in a high-traffic lobby area.
- Institutional Support: Dedicated PR and promotion of the artist through ARTS 14C channels.
Fees
- Application Fee: Free to apply.
- Participation Fee: None; materials are fully sponsored.
Application Requirements
- A detailed mural proposal outlining the visual concept and feasibility.
- Sketch or digital mockup of the proposed design for the 12x10 ft wall.
- Artist Statement and current Curriculum Vitae (CV).
- Professional Portfolio of previous large-scale or relevant works.
