CABIN is an art residency and exhibition program founded in Berlin in 2023 by Lawrence Hazen. Initially established in Berlin’s Kreuzberg district with an exhibition program focused on emerging European painters and an independent bookshop, CABIN later moved its exhibition activities to New York and developed its residency program in Potsdam, New York. The residency is intended to contribute to the cultural development of Potsdam by creating an artistic community and providing artists with dedicated studio and living spaces. CABIN plans to expand the residency to accommodate up to 35 artists per session.

CABIN Art Residency
CABIN Art Residency offers artists dedicated time, workspace, and a community environment for artistic and creative development in the historic riverside village of Potsdam, New York, at the foothills of the Adirondack Mountains.
Residents work within a 6,000-square-foot, two-floor space, including approximately 3,000 square feet of studio space and shared gathering areas. CABIN intentionally composes each cohort so that participating artists can engage in dialogue, exchange ideas, and influence one another's practices. The residency culminates in an arts festival and exhibition, with invited collectors and galleries visiting Potsdam for studio visits and exhibitions.
