Arts and Programs Associate – The Latinx Project (TLP)
This full-time position offers a dynamic opportunity for an arts professional to engage deeply with public humanities programming at a major academic institution. The Arts and Programs Associate will play a central role in coordinating and managing TLP’s wide-ranging activities, including public talks, exhibitions, residencies, and fellowship programs.
The role is designed for individuals interested in the intersection of art, research, and community engagement, particularly within Latinx cultural contexts. The selected candidate will contribute to the conceptualization, organization, and execution of programs that highlight diverse artistic and scholarly practices, while also supporting institutional processes and communications.
The Role Overview
- Salary: USD $70,000 – $80,000 annually
- Contract Type: Full-time
- Work Model: Hybrid (60%–80% onsite in New York City)

Position & Tasks
The Arts and Programs Associate will be responsible for a combination of curatorial support, administrative coordination, and communications management. Key responsibilities include:
- Coordinating and executing public programs such as panels, exhibitions, and fellowships
- Liaising with artists, curators, scholars, and collaborators
- Supporting the selection processes for artists-in-residence, curators, and fellows
- Managing logistics related to exhibitions (shipping, installation, labeling, etc.)
- Assisting with grant reporting and institutional administrative systems
- Maintaining and updating TLP’s digital presence (website, newsletters, social media)
- Supporting audience engagement through public-facing materials and guided interactions
- Contributing to research, writing, and proofreading of program-related content

Eligibility
- Open to applicants with a minimum of a Bachelor’s degree (arts, humanities, or related fields preferred)
- Candidates with a Master’s degree in public humanities, visual culture, Latinx Studies, or related disciplines are strongly preferred
- Minimum 3 years of professional experience in arts programming or cultural events
- Strong knowledge or demonstrated interest in Latinx studies, art, culture, or history
