Atelier Holsboer Residency – Paris, France (2027)

The Atelier Holsboer Residency is a six-month fully funded program designed for Visual Artists, Curators, and Art Observers to engage in intensive artistic practice in Paris. Residents are provided with a private studio located in the Cité internationale des arts, a historic international residency complex that houses creatives from around the world. The program offers financial support to cover living costs, travel, and project materials, while also providing access to shared workshops for printmaking, screen printing, and ceramics.

Participants have the opportunity to develop their personal practice, experiment with interdisciplinary approaches, and expand their professional networks. Both individual practitioners and collaborative duos are eligible, encouraging innovative projects and professional exchange. Residents are expected to use the studio actively, engage with the local arts community, and contribute to a vibrant international dialogue. The residency aims to foster visibility, research, and production while offering mentorship and guidance from experienced professionals affiliated with the Mondriaan Fund.

Eligibility

  • Open internationally to professional artists, curators, and art observers, including applicants from the Caribbean part of the Kingdom of the Netherlands.
  • Applicants must demonstrate a strong professional record in their discipline.
  • Basic knowledge of French is recommended but not mandatory; language support and short courses are available.
  • Both individuals and duos may apply; collaborative projects are encouraged. Duos must submit separate applications and clearly define collaborative roles.
  • There is no age restriction.
  • Applicants must have the capacity to dedicate six months to their practice in Paris.

Program Benefits & Awards

  • Private studio in the Cité internationale des arts for six months, including basic amenities.
  • Financial support to cover:
    • Travel costs
    • Living expenses
    • Project materials and production costs
  • Total funding allocation:
    • Artists: €14,582
    • Curators / Observers: €11,570
  • Personal contribution: 10% of total grant; adjusted proportionally for duos.
  • Access to shared workshops for ceramics, printmaking, and other production techniques.
  • Mentorship opportunities and professional guidance to strengthen artistic development.
  • Networking with other international residents to foster collaboration and exchange.
  • Encouragement to produce new work, conduct research, or develop innovative curatorial projects.
