Short Description
Atelier Mondial provides residency grants abroad to artists and cultural workers from the region of Alsace (FR), South Baden (DE), and the Basel region (cantons of Basel-City, Basel-Country, and Solothurn). Each May, announcements are issued for the grants in various disciplines for the following year. Applications are generally open between early May and mid-June and can be submitted via the online-only application form on this website.
Applications are open to artists and cultural creators in selected areas as long as they demonstrably live or work within commuting distance from Atelier Mondial (the cantons of Basel-City, Basel-Country and Solothurn, South Baden up to Freiburg, and Alsace). Attestations can be provided in the form of a residence certificate from the current year or a current employment contract, alongside an artist’s dossier with work biography of max. 20 pages alongside a letter of motivation (this video provides more information on the application process). Artist duos receive a grant in addition to the regular grant and are welcome to apply to the specially designated residency destinations.
