Curator (Exhibitions)
Auto Italia South East is seeking a Curator (Exhibitions) to join their team and support their growing programming. The position is responsible for developing and organizing exhibitions, ensuring that they reflect the ethos of Auto Italia. The role includes curating both group and solo exhibitions, working closely with artists to develop their projects, and overseeing the production and installation processes. The curator will play a crucial part in shaping the gallery’s exhibition program, ensuring it remains innovative and thought-provoking. This is an exciting opportunity for a passionate and experienced individual to contribute to a dynamic art space.
The Role Overview
- Salary: £30,000 per annum (full-time, 35 hours per week)
- Contract Type: Permanent
- Reporting to: Director of Programmes
- Fee: Salary as mentioned above
- Curator: Oversee exhibition programming and lead curatorial decisions
- Programme: Manage exhibition projects from conception through to delivery.
Position & Tasks
- Curate exhibitions and projects across a range of mediums and formats
- Collaborate with artists to develop exhibition concepts
- Oversee the logistics, installation, and production of exhibitions
- Contribute to public engagement strategies and related events
- Coordinate with the marketing and communications team to promote exhibitions
- Maintain relationships with stakeholders, including artists, collaborators, and partners
- Ensure the smooth operation of the exhibition space, managing all practicalities
- Support the overall programming vision of Auto Italia South East.

Eligibility
- National & International Artists/Curators: The position is open to applicants who can legally work in the UK.
- Experience: Applicants should have a strong background in curating contemporary art exhibitions.

- Qualification: A degree or equivalent experience in curatorial studies, art history, or a related field is preferred.
