Title & Description

Black Church Print Studio International Residency 2027

Black Church Print Studio is inviting international artists actively engaged in contemporary printmaking to apply for its four-week International Residency Programme taking place in Dublin, Ireland, during 2027. The residency offers professional printmakers the opportunity to develop new work, experiment with studio processes, and engage with one of Ireland’s most respected printmaking facilities.

The programme supports emerging, mid-career, and established artists whose practices are informed by contemporary printmaking. Selected residents will gain access to professional studio equipment, technical guidance, and a collaborative artistic environment designed to encourage innovation and exchange.

The residency emphasises artistic production, experimentation, and professional development. Artists are encouraged to use the residency period to research, produce new editions, expand technical approaches, and connect with Ireland’s broader contemporary arts community.

During the residency, participating artists will receive 24-hour access to the studio facilities, accommodation in a shared house, technical and administrative assistance, and a basic artist fee. In addition to developing their own work, residents are expected to contribute to the studio community through a print demonstration and/or artist talk discussing their artistic practice and residency experience.

The programme also aims to strengthen international artistic dialogue by creating opportunities for cultural exchange and collaboration among artists working within contemporary print disciplines.
