Short Description

Since 2023, CEAAC has been offering a two-month research and creation residency in Barcelona in partnership with Hangar and the Lumbung Press collective for artists with an interest in editorial practices and the commons.

A production and research centre based in Barcelona, Hangar develops artistic residencies, a public programme and has workshops focused on digital technologies. Hangar considers its governance and its action in the light of maintenance studies and advocates a self-reflexive functioning of the institution.

Housed in Hangar, where he is now a permanent resident, Lumbung Press was born during documenta 15 in Kassel in 2022, where artists and collectives practicing collective printing operated continuously during the 100 days of the event. Lumbung Press bases its practice around the Indonesian tradition of lumbung, which involves pooling surplus resources in order to redistribute them for the long-term benefit of community members. Her project values publishing as a means of building a collective body and advocates a creative, social and experimental approach to offset printing.

Eligibility

The call is aimed at artist-authors at the beginning/middle of their career, without age or nationality criteria that can justify a link with the Grand Est region.
