Short Description

Cirkus Kolektiv is thrilled to announce an exciting opportunity for artists and collectives working in contemporary circus and outdoor arts. We are looking for artists for our Outdoor Art Lab residency program in Split, Croatia.

This residency offers a unique platform for artists to explore and develop new creations within the vibrant and historic city of Split.

Project Idea:

Our residency program seeks to foster outdoor exploration and creation within contemporary circus and outdoor arts. By focusing on public spaces and their specific contexts, we hope to encourage a unique approach to artistic expression that is currently underrepresented in Croatia. The Outdoor Art Research Lab residency program can foster a vibrant dialogue between artists, local communities, and the urban landscape, ultimately reimagining Split’s public spaces as places of connection and creativity.

The residency is primarily focused on exploration and experimentation. There is no requirement to create or premiere a final product. The goal is to provide artists with a space to delve into new ideas and encourage the development of an outdoor creation that directly refers to the performance space and is shaped by it.

Participants will have the opportunity to:

  • Conduct research and create in outdoor spaces and their specific contexts
  • Collaborate with local artists and communities
  • Develop innovative and site-specific outdoor art projects
  • Receive mentorship and production support
  • Participate in public presentations and events
  • Give workshops to the local community in their field of interest

Eligibility

We invite all artists and collectives working in the fields of contemporary circus, outdoor arts, or related disciplines to apply, regardless of their level of experience.

Whether you are already a professional or just starting out, we are eager to support your artistic journey.
