The Cité 237 Residency Cameroon program is a prestigious initiative designed to host professional artists at the Cité internationale des arts, a foundation of public utility based in Paris, France, which has hosted over 30,000 artists since 1965. This specific edition is organized in close collaboration with the Institut Français du Cameroun (IFC) to promote Cameroonian culture and facilitate international professional mobility. Together, these organizations provide a structured platform for Cameroonian creators to integrate into the European art market, fostering a sustainable cultural dialogue between Yaoundé, Douala, and Paris.

This is a prestigious Residency and research program tailored exclusively for professional artists from Cameroon. The program’s mission is to encourage artistic mobility and expand the professional networks of Cameroonian practitioners. Residents are invited for a 3-month stay in Paris to develop a specific Project or Research inquiry. The program is designed to be a "breath of fresh air" for established artists, providing them with a high-quality live-work environment in the Marais district. While in residence, artists are encouraged to engage with the city's vast network of curators, critics, and fellow residents from around the world.

- Writing: (Literature, poetry, or fiction).
- Photography: Fine art or documentary practice.
- Printmaking: Traditional and experimental techniques.
- Curatorial: Including Art Management, exhibition research, and art criticism.
Eligibility
- Nationality: Must be a Cameroonian national.
- Residence: Must be currently working and living in Cameroon.
- Experience: Must have a professional practice of at least 5 years.
- Individual Application: Duo or group applications are not eligible.
- Disciplines: Must work in one of the four listed fields (Writing, Photography, Printmaking, or Curatorial).
Program Benefits & Awards
- Accommodation: A live-work Studio apartment at the Cité internationale des arts (Marais).
- Financial Support: A living Stipend of €1,000 per month.
- Production Grant: An additional Grant of €1,000 for project-related expenses.
- Travel Costs: Full coverage of international return airfare, visa fees, and travel insurance.
- Facilities: Access to the Cité's collective technical workshops.
