Short Description
Our Annual Arts Grants and Residencies provide support for artists to deliver and present new ideas in the city. Each year, we offer grants and studio space and facilities residencies to creatives across all arts forms to bring their creative project to life.
Eligibility
Applicants must:
be an artist or a small to medium arts organisation
Submit only one application (for either an arts project or a residency)
Complete the proposed project or residency between 1 January and 31 December 2026
comply with the City of Melbourne municipal boundary requirements
comply with additional grant category eligibility and terms and conditions
have no overdue acquittals for City of Melbourne grants
have no debts to the City of Melbourne

Artistic CV summaries for key artists
Examples of current, past, or proposed works
tentative booking quote or communication with a venue manager or relevant staff (excludes online projects and residencies)
project timeline

How to Apply
Program Benefits & Awards
This program supports creatives in either:
- Annual Arts Grants – Grants available up to $20,000 for one-off arts projects that result in a public outcome either online or within City of Melbourne municipality in 2026. Open to individuals, groups and small to medium arts organisations.
- Art Residencies – These grants provide studio spaces and facilities for artists and small to medium arts organisations to support the development of their creative practice. Applications that propose collaborations and partnerships are welcome.
Residencies are available in 2026 for six or 12 months and include up to $5,000 funding for artists.
