Organizer Information:

SIVIERA Arte Association is a cultural organization based in Verbania, Italy. They are organizing this competition to select works for the 4th edition of the collective exhibition "Incontriamoci in Villa Simonetta – La Collettiva delle Collettive".

Title & Description:

Applications are open for the art competition "The Spirit of the Times".

The theme explores the complex ideal tensions that define the essence of an era, addressing concepts of identification, globalization, hyper-connectivity, and the environmental crisis. The call aims to select two-dimensional works (no 3D) that interpret this theme through diverse personal languages and styles.

A jury of artists and curators will select 6 works to be displayed at the collective exhibition in Verbania from April 24 to May 10, 2026.

Category:

Visual Arts (Two-dimensional works only: oil, acrylic, tempera, watercolor, fiber art, collage, bas-relief, etc.).

Eligibility:

  • Who: Open to all artists working in Contemporary Art, with no restrictions on gender, age, or nationality.

  • Format: Individual or collective participation is allowed.

  • Specs: Works must have a width between 30–100 cm and a height between 30–170 cm.

  • Mounting: Works must be equipped with hanging hardware and ready for display.

Program Benefits & Awards:

  • Exhibition: Participation in the show at Villa Simonetta.

  • Publication: Inclusion in the exhibition catalog, delivered at the end of the show.

  • Promotion: Visibility on local/online channels and official social media.

Application Fee:

€11.00 per work (maximum 2 works per artist).

(Note: Fees are non-refundable unless the exhibition is cancelled).

Application Requirements:

  1. Registration Form: Completed and signed.

  2. Images: 1 general photograph and 2 detail photographs per work.

  3. Texts: A brief description (max 500 characters) and an artist biography (max 800 characters).

  4. Payment: Copy of the bank transfer receipt.
