Applications are open for the Curatorial Fellow, Latin American Art.

This is a new three-year fellowship (with potential for extension) designed to support original research, curatorial practice, and community engagement related to Latin American art. The fellowship is broad in scope and welcomes applicants whose work engages Latin American art through a range of disciplines, geographies, time periods, and methodologies (including art history, visual culture, Indigenous studies, Latinx studies, art of the Ancient Americas, and contemporary curatorial practice).

Eligibility:

  • Who: Open internationally to curators and researchers with considerable knowledge of Latin American art and/or its diasporas.
  • Education: MA, doctoral-level coursework, or PhD in art history (or equivalent related field) is desired but not strictly required.
  • Language: Fluency or professional proficiency in Spanish, Portuguese, or other subject-relevant language is strongly preferred.

Program Benefits & Awards:

  • Compensation: Annual salary of $50,000 – $60,000 plus benefits.
  • Status: Three-year, full-time salaried, exempt position.
  • Responsibilities: The fellow will originate and present new research on TMA’s permanent collection, curate/co-curate exhibitions, assist with collection stewardship and acquisitions, and contribute to fundraising and community engagement initiatives.
