Editorial Assistant – Ocula Magazine
This full-time role supports the relaunch of Ocula magazine under a new editorial team in London. The position is designed for early-career professionals with some experience in digital-first journalism, particularly in magazines or newspapers. The Editorial Assistant will contribute to all aspects of editorial production, from research, image licensing, and fact-checking to liaising with contributors, galleries, and artists. The role offers hands-on experience in global contemporary art media, the opportunity to write news and features, and the chance to develop skills across digital content management, editorial workflows, and industry networking.

Position & Tasks
- Maintain editorial calendars and monitor production workflows
- Conduct image research, licensing, and captioning
- Fact-check stories and assist sub-editing
- Upload stories to Ocula’s CMS
- Liaise with freelance contributors regarding invoices and bios
- Contact artists and galleries to arrange interviews and share published content
- Attend editorial meetings and update workflows accordingly
- Pitch and write news, features, and exhibition previews
- Monitor major developments, voices, and movements in the contemporary art world
