Organizer Information:
Everything But The Work was started in 2024 by Ashley Diane Saldana and Karly Jean Kainz. It is a project focused on unveiling the everyday ideas behind an artist's practice. Noticing that most platforms focus heavily on end results, the founders created a space to answer the question, "How could we show someone’s practice without actually showing their work?"
Title & Description:
Applications are open for the 2026 Featured Artist – Quarter 2 series.
Each week, the platform highlights one artist for a deep dive into their practice, but never their actual work. Over the course of five days (Monday–Friday), featured artists are showcased on Instagram and the project website following a specific structure:
-
Monday (Introduction): Who are you and what do you make?
-
Tuesday (Processes): What does your practice look like?
-
Wednesday (Influences): Who inspires you and your work?
-
Thursday (Challenges): What’s an obstacle you’ve had to overcome?
-
Friday (Reflections): What’s next?
This is a chance for the community to connect personally with artists—exploring the ideas, moments, and experiences that shape them—returning to the roots of why they create.
