Forecast mentorship is an international program run by Skills e.V. and supported by the Federal Government Commissioner for Culture and the Media in Germany. Forecast provides artists and cultural practitioners from all disciplines with the opportunity to develop their projects under the guidance of experienced mentors. Since its inception, the program has focused on transdisciplinary exchange, mentorship, and the professional development of innovative artistic projects with societal, conceptual, or experimental relevance.
Title & Description
Forecast 11 – Mentorship and Artistic Development for 2026-27
Forecast 11 invites artists, cultural practitioners, and creative collectives worldwide to submit project proposals for its international mentorship program. Selected participants will be paired with one of six mentors and engage in workshops, professional development, and collaborative sessions. The program emphasizes experimentation, cross-disciplinary collaboration, and mentorship, culminating in presentations at the Forecast Festival 2026 in Berlin. Projects may span any artistic discipline, with process and development prioritized over thematic constraints.

Eligibility
- Open internationally to individual artists, duos, or collectives of any age.
- Applicants must submit a project relevant to the expertise of one of the selected mentors.
- Previous mentees from the most recent edition may be subject to restrictions.
- Projects may be in any discipline but must be suitable for mentorship and development.
Program Benefits & Awards
1. Mentorship & Guidance
- Each selected participant (mentee) is paired with an experienced mentor.
- Mentors provide hands-on guidance, feedback, and professional advice to develop the project.
2. Workshops & Collaborative Sessions
- Access to structured workshops during the festival and mentorship period.
- Opportunities for transdisciplinary collaboration with peers and other mentees.
3. Financial & Production Support
- Nominees (18 selected participants) receive an artist fee of €2,000.
- Mentees (6 selected from nominees) receive:
- Artist fee of €6,000
- A production budget tailored to project requirements
- Travel and accommodation for one representative per project is covered.
4. Festival & Public Exposure
- Selected projects are presented at the Forecast Festival 2026 in Berlin.
- Opportunities for post-festival premieres and collaborations at partner institutions.
5. Professional Networking & Long-Term Benefits
- Mentorship provides career guidance, transdisciplinary exposure, and networking opportunities.
- Enhances credibility and visibility in the international arts scene.
