Applications are open for the Third Edition of the Residency Program for a French Craftsperson.
This 3-month research residency is designed for a craftsperson working in the field of contemporary creation, specifically in ceramics. Based on an original research project, this exploratory field investigation allows the artist to immerse themselves in the Chinese crafts ecosystem, draw upon local techniques and aesthetics, and foster an exchange of expertise between France and China.

Eligibility:
- Nationality & Residency: Applicants MUST be of French nationality AND currently based/residing in France.
- Discipline: Must be a ceramic craftsperson (or working in a closely related field) engaged in professional life with evidence of previous work.
- Language Requirement: Applicants must have a basic level of communication skills in English or Chinese.
- Independence: The candidate must be able to independently manage their travel arrangements (visas, etc.) and daily life in China (transportation, shopping, etc.).
- Availability: Must be available and free from professional activities for the entire duration of the stay. (There are no age restrictions).
Program Benefits & Awards:
- Duration: A 3-month research residency (starting between September and December 2026). (Note: Preference is given to 3-month stays, but if impossible, candidates can specify a shorter duration with a minimum of one month).
- Financial Support: International travel, visa, and accommodation expenses are covered. A living allowance is also provided.
- Workspace & Materials: Access to the university's workshops, tools, and necessary raw materials.
- Networking & Support: Professional and artistic guidance, regular exchanges with specialized craftsmen, and introductions to key players in the field (artisans, artists, museum directors).
Application Requirements:
All required documents MUST be submitted in BOTH French AND English. The total digital file size must be under 10 MB.
- Proposal (Max 5 pages): Presenting the original research project, including the concept, objectives, and materials.
- Curriculum Vitae.
- Artistic Portfolio (Max 15 pages): Photographs, press articles, media links, etc.
- Residency Period: Specify your availability (preference is 3 months starting Fall 2026).
- Sworn Statement: Guaranteeing the works presented are your own.
- Letters of Recommendation: (Optional).
