Organizer Information:
House Work Presents is an independent, artist-run gallery and residency program based in Hackney, East London. Operating within a domestic setting—specifically a 1970s maisonette in the Regents Estate—the organization explores the domestic space as a site of cultural production. Their mission is to offer artists the best possible experience for their practice, with interests encompassing contemporary practice, art education, the ethics of participation, and the formation of DIY culture.Description:
Applications are now open for House Work Presents Residency 2026. This program offers one artist a free, fully supported month of creative experimentation, mentorship, and a final solo exhibition. The residency supports experimentation, dialogue, and creative exchange. It is designed to be a "time out" for artists to develop their practice without the usual pressures. The experience culminates in a solo exhibition or presentation, providing a vital platform to showcase work and engage with the London creative scene. Artists are encouraged to propose projects that respond thoughtfully to the unique residency environment (a domestic space) and the surrounding East London context.Category:
