Organizer Information:

The Körber-Stiftung (Körber Foundation) runs the eCommemoration program, which has spent the last five years accompanying the transformation of remembrance culture in the digital media age. The Immersive History Lab Studio is designed to explore how contemporary media art can question certainties in remembrance culture and create new, pluralistic narratives about the past.

Title & Description:

Call for Applications: Immersive History Lab Studio.

“Back to the beginning? Let’s rethink memory and tell history differently.”

This program invites 7 "memory workers" to explore media art approaches for a participatory, debate-initiating, speculative, and open-ended culture of remembrance. The program investigates how digital contemporary arts can provoke a user-centered confrontation with history, moving beyond worn-out, top-down policies of commemoration to give a voice to often-overlooked communities.
