Organizer Information:

In Situ Polyculture Commons (ISPC) is a creative organization dedicated to fostering community and supporting artists. Understanding that traditional residencies often present barriers for many creators, ISPC has launched a new remote initiative designed to offer space, time, and accountability to artists unable to travel.

Title & Description:

Applications are open for the inaugural 2026 Remote Residency: In Situ At Home.

This residency is specifically designed for artists, writers, and creative researchers for whom travel would create hardship or be unfeasible (e.g., due to parenting, elder care, job inflexibility, disability, or chronic illness).

The program will select 3 to 5 individuals to form a remote residency cohort. Residents will engage in flexibly scheduled studio visits and remote critique discussions moderated by ISPC board members, staff, and alumni. Candidates should approach this with the same ambition as an in-person residency, treating their home studio as a container for productivity, focus, and community. The cohort will schedule their sessions between May and October 2026.
